Brain Competition – Wonderful Review of the First Whole Brain Development Skill Competition

The whole brain course is getting more and more popular with parents because it can train and develop children’s left and right brain and, in the meantime, develop brain potential roundly. After having the courses, CA&Hills Early Learning Center held a whole brain development skill competition for children who had had the courses for half a year.
Parents took an active part in the first whole brain development skill competition held by CA&Hills Early Learning Center, which meant parents attached importance to early years education. Combining with the features of whole brain course, the teachers set three challenges. For the sake of fairness, teachers let players drew lots themselves to decide the competition order and content, which enhanced their ability of independence as well.
Challenge one: train the abilities of operation, observation and sense of direction.
At the beginning, according to the jigsaw puzzle patterns they had, players researched patterns seriously, found corresponding building blocks and finished the task in a set time, within ten minutes. Jigsaw puzzle can test the abilities of operation, observation and sense of direction roundly.
Challenge two: to test the abilities of logical thinking, language, imagination and memory.
The teachers set a storytelling contest for players. Player told the stories with tender voices and memorized the cards at the same time. After storytelling, players needed to restore the sequence of the cards. Storytelling can train and test the abilities of logical thinking, language, imagination and memory.
Challenge three: enhance the abilities of memory, listening, speaking and watching.
Flash cards is the most straightforward approach to test children’s abilities of memory, listening, speaking and watching. During the contest, cards flashed across. As long as they were a bit uncareful, one card flashed across and another appeared. Players had to fix eyes on cards, read cards and memorize cards. After showing all the flash cards, players started to retell the cards they had remembered. This process improved not only memory ability but also the abilities of listening, speaking and watching.
Three challenges of the whole brain development skill competition came to a successful end. When scorers were calculating scores, the principal, Eva, thanked parents for companying children to have whole brain courses actively. Back to the beginner’s mind, we wonder that whether you remember why you decided to company your children here to have whole brain courses. “Because my child likes it and I can see his progress.” What you said is still in our mind and is the best affirmation to the teachers.
When the teachers selected the best small expert hand of jigsaw puzzle, the best storyteller and the best memory king, the contest reached its climax. Then, the principal, Eva, issued certificates and prizes to the prize-winners. The challenges of this contest tested children’s comprehensively applying of many abilities. The children who had good performance can’t do without the training on the class. Through this activity, we hope to provide children with a platform to show themselves and show what they learnt on the class, which also makes more parents feel the unique charm of whole brain courses.
